How To Make Money Online

The economy has been slow for awhile now, and unfortunately it has left many people without a job. Over the past few years many people have decided to create their own businesses working from home. Surprisingly the majority of these people are not even selling tangible goods or services. You may be asking yourself, “Well then how are people making money from working at home when they aren’t selling anything?” Many people these days have been able to make money from home by developing their own website or blog.

Companies spend over an estimated $100 billion a year for internet advertising in the United States alone. Building and monetizing a website or blog is simple. The hard part is learning how to increase website traffic and how to increase website ranking. There are so many different options to monetize a website. Two of the most common and popular forms of web monetization are advertisements and affiliate marketing programs.

There are many advertising companies that are available to sign up for as a publisher. Each advertising company has its own set of rules, requirements, and guidelines. I cannot stress this enough, but it’s critical to follow your advertiser’s rules to the letter. Otherwise your account may be terminated without warning, and you may not even find out until right before the next payment cycle. So ALWAYS follow the advertisers’ rules.

Google Adsense is the most recognized and profitable advertising program that is available on the internet in my opinion. Being able to use Adsense is a privilege and should be treated like one. Google will literally drop you as one of their publishers without thinking twice if they believe that you are in violation of any of their terms, even if you are not; so don’t give Google a reason to question if you are in violation of their terms.

Usually, ads are available in the form of banners or text. As a publisher you usually only earn money if a visitor clicks on the ad, so I highly recommend choosing ads that are relevant to your site’s content because visitors are more likely to click them. Now there are two common types of ads that you should be aware of, CPC and CPA.

CPC (Cost Per Click) is also known as Pay per click (PPC). Advertisers pay every time a user clicks on their listing and is redirected to their website. They do not actually pay for the listing, but only when the listing is clicked on. This system allows advertising specialists to refine searches and gain information about their market. Under the Pay per click pricing system, advertisers pay for the right to be listed under a series of target rich words that direct relevant traffic to their website, and pay only when someone clicks on their advertisement which links directly to their site.

CPA (Cost Per Action) or (Cost Per Acquisition) advertising is performance based and is common in the affiliate marketing sector of the business. In this payment scheme, the publisher takes all the risk of running the ad, and the advertiser pays only for the amount of users who complete a transaction, such as a purchase or sign-up.

Building and monetizing a website or blog is simple. If your fortunate enough to get your site listed on google page one your website has a chance to earn a lot of money.
